I'm Devon, nice to meet you!

I'm the face behind Classhouse Property, one of the most respected and in-demand private housing providers in South Tyneside. 

If you're looking for a high quality rental property that you can call home for as long as you like, you've come to the right place. At Classhouse we'll never rent out a property unless we'd be happy to call the place home ourselves and we'll never ask a responsible tenant to leave. 

 

I grew up in South Tyneside and I've been on the property scene since I was 15 years old, so I know a thing or two about providing housing in the local community. We refurbish run down properties as well as building new ones, all whilst utilising local tradesman and suppliers too, helping create jobs and support other small businesses within our community.

Nobody should suffer anxiety over housing insecurity. At Classhouse, our customers have a home with us for as long as they like - we'll never ask a responsible tenant to leave. 


You're fed up of living in a run down place where things keep breaking.

All of our properties are fully refurbished from top to bottom. That's right, new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, electrics, heating, decoration - the works! This means a high quality home for our customers and minimal maintenance issues. 
 

You've had enough of maintenance issues taking ages to resolve.

All of our properties are newly refurbished, so maintenance issues are minimal. Routine maintenance is needed from time to time though - tenants have their own online portal to report any maintenance issues so they're resolved quickly. 
 

You're tired of not being able to make a rented property your own.

All of our properties are refurbished with neutral, contemporary finishes to help our tenants put their own stamp on the place. No garish colours or patterns, a blank canvas awaits! 


You couldn't bare to part with your pet.

Pets are part of the family and they're welcomed in all of our properties - 85% of our tenants have pets.  Our Chief Pet Officer and Head of HR (that's 'Hound Resources') Dolly and Biscuit ensure that all of our properties are appropriate for floofs and furries. 

 

You're fed up with expensive moving costs.

We offer all tenants a zero deposit option to secure their tenancy. This helps reduce moving costs so you have more cash to splash when buying those essentials when moving home.

    Start by registering with us so we understand what you’re looking for in a home, and we can make sure we’re a good fit for each other. You can register your details here.   • Which criteria do I need to meet to be able to rent with Classhouse?
    We want to provide housing to local people who share our values. Our ideal customers are private tenants who work and can provide a guarantor who is a UK homeowner. Every application is considered carefully on a case-by-case basis.
  • Why do I need to provide a guarantor who is a UK homeowner?
    We ask for a guarantor who is a UK homeowner to help protect our properties and the stability of tenancies. It’s not something we ask lightly - with increasing government regulation in the Private Rented Sector, we have to prioritise financial security when selecting tenants. A guarantor gives added peace of mind that rent will be covered if your circumstances change, and helps us continue offering high quality homes within the community.
  • How long are your tenancies?
    We believe in providing housing stability and offer long term tenancies as standard. If you look after the property and pay your rent on time, you're welcome to stay as long as you like.
  • What does the referencing process involve?
    We carry out referencing to ensure the tenancy is a good fit for both of us. The process is fully digitised to make it as simple and efficient as possible. We will conduct affordability and credit checks, employer and landlord referencing. Your guarantor will also be referenced and will be asked to provide proof of homeownership.
  • How much is rent and the deposit?
    Rent and deposit amounts vary depending on the property - all of our homes are priced for the local market. We know moving is expensive, so we also offer a zero-deposit option to help lower your moving costs.
  • Are your properties furnished?
    After being fully refurbished with neutral, contemporary interiors we rent our properties unfurnished. This provides you a blank canvas to make the space your own. In our marketing material we often stage our properties to help you better understand the space and sizing in each room - we know it can be difficult to determine whether a property is suitable or not just from looking at an empty box!
  • Do you accept pets?
    Yes - pets are welcome in all of our homes. If you’ll be bringing pets with you, let us know when you register with us so we can make sure the space is right for you, and for your animal companions.
